Description
A Sasanqua is related closely to the camellia family, although in Japan it is not considered a true camellia. The Japanese use the leaves to make tea, and the seed/nuts to make tea seed oil, which is used for cosmetics, cooking, lubrication and lighting. A popular plant since its introduction in Europe in 1869, they are also found in many gardens in the Untied States, where they are an autumn staple, bringing in spring color amid the changing leaves.
