Description
A beautifully colored bird, the Altamira Oriole's home territory is mainly in Mexcio and Central America, with the northern end of it just stretching into southern Texas. It closely resembles the Hooded Oriole which is commonly seen in the western United States. The Altamira Oriole's woven basket-like nest can reach 25 inches in length. It is large and heavier than other orioles which make their home in the US, and the coloring of the male can range from deep yellow to flashy orange. It looks like sunshine on the wing!
