Asian Red Encaustic metal print by Bellesouth Studio. Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The high gloss of the aluminum sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

Artist's Description
A small collage made of dipping printed tissue paper in hot beeswax, quickly and carefully placing them into a collage on watercolor board, then sealing with a small torch. The clear beeswax mutes the colors and adds a softness to the final image.
Encaustic comes from the Greek word "enkaustikos" which means "to burn (in)" and is an ancient form of art. Each melted wax layer is mixed with resin for strength and body. An encaustic art piece is made up of many layers and uses clear wax or natural wax (which has a warm yellow tint) and wax paint which also includes resin.. Special brushes are needed. The surface of the finished piece is either smooth or textured.
