Description
An immature or juvenile male rose-breasted grosbeak (Pheucticus ludovicianus). They migrate through South Carolina on the way to the northern most states in the US, and also go to Canada. In a fully mature male, there would be no brown areas-they would be all black with the rose breast, black and white wings, and the white belly. We always look out for them in late April and also in October as they migrate back to Central and South America
