Description

After bathing himself in the birdbath, this eastern bluebird (sialia sialis) flew to this branch and immediately began preening. As I watched, he made sure every part of his body was in tiptop shape, including each "toe" on each foot. Then, with a final fluff of all of his feathers, he was gone to hunt for food. Photograph given a painterly process.
