A black and white macro view of the Sensitive Briar (schrankia nuttalii), a wildflower growing in sunny grasslands and woods. If you run you finger lengthwise up the leaf, the leaf closes, thus giving this plant its common name. The flowers are small pink powderpuff shapes, with yellow stamens the same length as the petals. It grows in the mountain area of South Carolina, and is found in many US states.
