Description
The European starling (Sturnus vulgaris) was introduced into the United States, and several other non European countries years ago, much to the dismay of many, They can be a pest to farmers, and will drive out nesting birds to take over the nesting site. Here, this starling has landed on a feeder holding dried mealworms I had put out for bluebirds and turned to look smugly at me as it to say, "I'm here to eat and you can't do anything about it!" They can be piggy and bullies at the feeders. But I thought this was a great shot, gave it a mild abstract treatment and thought other bird lovers would enjoy it!
