Description
The Swift River runs through fall colors in the White Mountain National Forest. For much of the way the Kancamagus Highway runs close beside it. This free-flowing river has great views of whitewater cascades and waterfalls as it cuts through the White Mountains. The Swift River starts at Mount Kancamagus in Livermore and after dropping 2,400 feet it joins with the Saco River in Conway New Hampshire. On this day I pulled off the Kancamagus which ran closely along the Swift River. I was enjoying the New England fall foliage as it wasn't quite peak yet but in a week it would be.
