The blue heron sitting atop this tree rising out of the Tennessee River allowed the boat to approach him gradually until we got close enough for the shot I wanted. The bird is perched on a tree which has been decorated over the months by passersby who have left beverage can coolers, life vests, floaties, ribbons, buckets, etc., on it. The "art" helps ensure safety on the water???
