After a downpour of rain, this orange and red daylily seems to glow even in the fading light. Daylilies usually appear in the summer in the US, and are found in many countries, either cultivated or growing wild. Many Asian countries feature them on the menu - they are known as the Golden Needle. Daylilies are a wonderful image of rebirth, the bloom fades at the end of the day, but in the morning there is a fresh new lily blooming beside the old one. Grown in my flower garden in Greenville County, South Carolina.
