Description
A juvenile male summer tanager (Piranga rubra) rests near abelia shrubbery. In a week or two, he will migrate for Central or South America. When he returns in the spring, he will be a beautiful red. Summer Tanagers are insect eaters, though sometimes they will eat a little suet from feeders. They are known to kill and eat wasps and yellow jackets. Ready to print in a square format.
