Description
A photograph turned into a colored pencil drawing of the Manhattan Bridge, seen from the East Side of New York City. Iconic no matter how you see it, the Manhattan Bridge is a famous landmark of NYC, and was completed in 1909. It connects the lower Manhattan and Brooklyn by spanning the East River. The third bridge to be built over the East River (after the Brooklyn Bridge and Williamsburg Bridge) and the lower level has three lanes, four subway tracks, a walkway and a bikeway. The upper level, originally used for streetcars, has two lanes in each direction, and the lower level is one-way and has three lanes in peak direction. The bridge once carried New York State Route 27 and later was planned to carry Interstate 478.
